Silliness of School

See we get to do insanely silly projects at school. This is my cardiopulmonary a&p project due tomorrow. It's on exercise and the effects on the cardiopulmonary system. It was way more fun than my pharmacology project which was total arts & crafts fold out posterboard. Sometimes I really feel like I'm back in middle school!

Warning: it's set to Olivia Newton John's "Let's Get Physical"

food and another shamless plug

The husband and I went shopping and got me tons of vegetarian foods. Stuff that he could easily incorporate as well if he were making one of his oh so delicious meat dishes. Vegan Chorizo, "meat" crumbles for his spicy delicacies, "chicken" nuggets, some yummy looking veggie burgers.... I still haven't been able to give up the shrimps though... maybe in the future... May I just add that I am grateful to have a man who is willing to cook for me, much less alter his cooking - or make 2 variations?! ~heart~

Got me some dates rolled in coconut with tree nuts, yum! eggplant spread for my basmati rice, pitas, yummy hummus, fiber cracker crisps, napa cabbage, fruits, blueberries.... Mmmmmm

on a side note:

If you're in the Denver area, Come check out Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School tomorrow night.

Channel 9 will be taping and I will have the honor of gracing the event with the hostess with the mostess, Vivienne VaVoom and my cohort in crime, AnaBella LaFontaine!!

Tonight, we will indulge in watching some gorgeous ladies of Ooh La La at the Oriental Theater!!
Love those special girlies too!

Feeling like dressing all out Flapper, 20's... hopefully pics to follow

A Worn Out Mess

Today, after my morning Pathophysiology exam on 20 ILD's, Lung Cancer, 4 Pneumoconiosis's, ARDS, Guillain Barre and Myasthenia Gravis. Had to stop at Target for some folders and a birthday card. This is what I look like when I have to trudge through snow and am butt tired, my coat and such is on the floor behind me. Yeah, I know, not looking cute.

We have 15 days left to this quarter, 12 have quizzes, projects and exams. Expect more of the worn out, butt getting bigger pics!

Our first podcast is up! Be gentle, it's our first time!!

Hostess of the HOrRid
Girly of the Gristly & Ghastly
Compere of the Cheesey!

It's just for fun and the silliness of me and my hubby.

Also on a side note, I am in the running for a PRN job at a certain hospital. It's for O2 rounds and sterilizing respiratory equipment. One of my instructors works at said hospital, and has put my name in to two of the folks there. She told me that they will be calling me for an interview once the closing date has past. Also, she told me that not many people have applied. So, this could be a great learning experience and a little extra $$. But I hate to get my hopes up...

Dive Bar! Part II

Enter front door!

Here's the bar... I missed the anatomical dummy with all internal parts...

Yeah! Paint by number collage!!

Let's see one Saint! the other was facing the corner by the women's bathroom. I'm sad that I forgot my phone when I went to potty. Cuz he's a big light up saint ( I think Saint Bizatine (ok sp?) facing the corner!

YES!! ELVIS between Mary (both paint by number & flashing "WESTSIDE!" and Jesus!

When we left I had bikers giving me the buddy Jesus thumb's up and Hell's Yeah.....

I tell you, I LOVE this bar

Dive Bar!

This is one of my new favorite dive bars! Jazz, R&B, Soul music and the atmosphere is just, well, it reminds me of home. Old velvet wallpaper, that slight smell of old smoke permeated into the carpet, lava lamps, crazy oil paintings of flowers... yeah, me like. The place has been around since 1947 and I really do not think they have changed the inside very much since. Sure, there's some glimpses of each era since, but all in all it is a throwback to the past. There is such an eclectic mix of characters there too. ~love~ We have not tried the food as of yet, but we have partaken in their fabulous 241 happy hour!
Hoping to get there tonight or very soon to snap some fun shots!

My whacky husband and podcasts

So my husband has created a podcast site and facebook page for it... under La Petite Mort. He is convinced that I should do podcasts of the crazy bad horror movies we watch and crazy cheesey stories of the same genre we read. This should be interesting. This will entail us perusing our library of really bad dvd's of little known horror from the 20's through 80's, maybe some cult classics too. Fun!

So "The Brain That Wouldn't Die" isn't obscure, but I loves it! Probably won't be reviewing that one because EVERYONE knows that one. ;)

This week so far...

This week: Lots of kleenex - like my monkey, flower box?

Studying in bed, after coming home from the library after classes. And there's my handy box of kleenex for the runny nose.

And my lovely husband has been cooking & cleaning up after!
Wild mushroom ravioli, marinara, french bread and chicken pieces.

I don't know what he's cooking up tonight!
